PASTAMANIA MARKS ITS ENTRY INTO MALAYSIA’S KLIA2 TERMINAL

PastaMania – Singapore’s largest Italian restaurant chain has opened its first unit in Kuala Lumpur through its strategic franchise partner, Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd. The opening is part of PastaMania’s expansion plan in emerging markets.

“PastaMania is an international brand, and is instantly loved by consumers in every country where we introduce it,” said Wilson Lim, Executive Director (International Business). Mr Lim further remarked that “We’re delighted to work with our Malaysian franchisee to bring the authentic taste of PastaMania’s Italian cuisine to consumers in Malaysia. Together with our growth-ready franchise partners, we will continue to rapidly expand the PastaMania brand and enter new emerging markets around the world.”

The new PastaMania’s full-serve restaurant is located at the Gateway, Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA2). PastaMania aims to offer authentic Italian pasta cuisine to the travelling international passengers and Malaysian consumers. PastaMania has the most extensive pasta menu in town. The menu features the chunky minced Beef Bolognese, the very flavorful Prawn Aglio, the crunchy Bacon Cheesy Crumble, the cheesy Chicken Salsiccia and signature desserts such as Wafflelicious, Tiramisu, Banana Pizza dessert and more. PastaMania is Halal certified.

PastaMania is a destination that will bring the everyday pleasures of Italian wholesomeness to our customers offering that experience that will bring joy and satisfaction. The PastaMania restaurant in KLIA2 is designed in accordance to the Italian piazza concept, which means ‘City Square’ where the bustling of public life takes place. Customers can find Italian news stand (Edicola), the neighbourhood pasta shop (Negozio Della Pasta), grocery store (Alimentari) and traditional Italian bakery (Panificio Da Ugo) settings in the restaurant. Combined with attentive and personable service, PastaMania offers the dining experience that is distinctive and difficult to replicate.

Mr Chan Chong Fai, Manager, Business development, F&B Division, Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd, said, “Pasta-eating is extremely popular in Malaysia and from the collated pasta revenue result of PastaMania KLIA2 restaurant soft launch since 8 May 2014, business has been brisk and consumers are excited about the PastaMania F&B concept.” The airport management plans to open a second location in the main terminal by Quarter 2 of 2015.
